Kenn Hoekstra Interview On Mission Pack Posted by Demolisher on Monday, February 19, 2001
Daily Radar has posted an interview with Kenn Hoekstra about the Mission Pack. He gives details on the Elite Force mission pack. He mentions more about the "Virtual Voyager" tour mode as well as a few more small single player missions. Here is a preview:Daily Radar: What's the title of the new expansion pack? What sort of new single-player experience will there be? And how many new "levels" will there be?
Kenn Hoekstra: The title is still up in the air at this time. Star Trek: Voyager -- Elite Force is a pretty long title as it is, so we're trying to decide how to add to it without running the title over to the back of the box! We'll keep you posted... As far as the new single-player elements go, we have the Virtual Voyager mode (or tour mode, as it was originally known), featuring all of the major areas of the USS Voyager. You can interact with the crew and the environment as well as read ship's logs and technical information. There are mission objectives as well, and a hunt to find 14 secret items. We also have several Holo-Missions built in to the Virtual Voyager mode, including a Captain Proton mission, a Klingon stealth and infiltration mission, a firing range and a garden relaxation program that goes awry. These combine for a total of 16 new single-player maps, if you include the Voyager levels that are part of the tour. There is another new screenshot from the pack in the interview too.

Elite Force Add On Announced!!! Posted by Demolisher on Monday, February 19, 2001
Today we bring you the best news in a while!! I'll let this press release from Activision say it:Raven Software are offering players another tour of duty with the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager by announcing the official add-on pack for the highly acclaimed PC game, Star Trek: Voyager® Elite Force™. In the add-on pack, players will reprise their role as commander of the Hazard Team, a specially trained security detail designed to combat the perils of the Delta Quadrant.
. . .
The official Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force add-on pack will offer players a variety of diverse gameplay experiences. For the first time ever, trekkers will be able to explore an interactive 3D recreation of Voyager's interior in Tour Mode. Once aboard, players will have unrestricted access to 15 decks of the ship, including the bridge, officer quarters, holodecks, the transporter room, Hazard Team crew quarters, sickbay, astrometrics, the shuttlebay and engineering. Additionally, many of the ship's systems and all of the crew will be interactive. Players can perform complex tasks like initiating Voyager's self-destruct sequence or shutting down the warp core, along with finding secret items hidden objectives, and mini-games. Once players finish touring the ship, they can hone their Hazard Team skills in two new single player campaigns - a Captain Proton holo-novel and an assault on a Klingon compound.
Multiplayer also benefits from the new add-on pack with 17 additional multiplayer maps and 12 new models. The Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force add-on will also feature two new game mods. In a new class-based team game, players will be able to select a character class (i.e. security, medical, engineering…) with unique skill bonuses to complement their style of play. Additionally, in the assimilate mode, a group of players have to neutralize a lone Borg invader before they become assimilated.
The official Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force add-on pack is expected to be available in the spring of 2001. Visit gaming.startrek.com for more information. Be sure to check out Mike Gummelt's plan for more info on the additions to holomatch!!

Elite Force Review Posted by Demolisher on Tuesday, February 13, 2001
Now here's something we haven't heard in a while. The Backburner has posted their great review of Elite Force, giving the game a score of 92. Here is a preview:The single-player campaign is absolutely fantastic, easily one of the best I've seen for a First Person. Theres a great storyline (well, great if you like Star Trek, I s'pose), which includes both action situations and passive ones. For instance, you'll have both briefing and debreifing chapters, where you'll be free to roam around Voyager, May.be visit the Holodeck to hone your weapon skills. Then you'll be briefed once again and be sent into action. Its makes for a really realistic (well, realistically Star Trek) setting that pulls you in to the storyline. Note: You will have to use Internet Explorer to read the site because the text will not show in Netscape
